Just a little about myself, I am ethnically Chinese but my parents are from Malaysia. I grew up eating a mix of the two cultures but most of the dishes I ate were heavily influenced by Malaysian spices. About a year and a half ago, I took a trip to meet my dad's side of the family in Malaysia and I still dream about the food that I was able to eat everyday. On average a meal costs ~$2 USD and the portion sizes were just perfect. Nevertheless, I still ate more than I should and came back weighing a little more than when I left ;).
